Doris Bennett, Bred by Ralph Moore, California 2002.
In my opinion this new Miniature comes close to manifesting my personal ideal for excellence of growth habit, bloom form and floriferousness. 'Doris Bennett' has proven to me that there is something new that can be done with pink Miniatures!
This rose grows to about 16 inches in height, and slightly less wide. It is densely branching, making for a very full, shapely shrub. It flowers all over the bush creating a symmetrical display at all times. The blooms are about 1.5 inches across, and open flat with dozens of gracefully pointed petals, all laid out in perfect form like a tiny Water Lily. The buds have a very interesting pale silvery-mauve reverse. Generally there are 3 to 7 blooms to a cluster, and repeat is very fast. As I say, this comes very close to representing an ideal Miniature rose, for me. Highly recommended!
