A Centifolia seedling, unnamed: Bred by Paul Barden, 2000
This is a first bloom seedling grown from open pollinated seeds of a Centifolia Moss hybrid. This particular seedling does NOT show any of the mossing, and is much more intensely colored than its pale pink parent. I have included this rose as a point of interest, but I doubt that it will ever be used for anything, nor will I market it.
As you can see, the color is unusual, a deep cerise hue, with darker shadings of bluish-purple! There is no fragrance whatsoever to the 3" blooms. I cannot comment on the plant habit, as this is still a young plant and has yet to grow more than 2 feet tall. I'll let you know if this variety improves with age......many do!
